About Nosara
Nosara, Playa Guiones and Pelada
Nosara is a place of stunning natural beauty, tucked into the jungle surrounding three of Costa Rica's finest beaches. The area has become an increasingly popular travel destination for nature and wildlife lovers, as well as surfers. Homes, hotels, restaurants and businesses are spread out over several miles, often hidden amongst the trees and dense vegetation. A large community of international residents has formed here, most of whom are intent on keeping development and over-building to a minimum.
The Playas de Nosara area includes the beach side communities of Guiones and Pelada, as well as the puebla of Nosara. Beach communities border the Ostional Wildlife Refuge, which stretches for 15km from the northern end of Playa Ostional to the southern end of Playa Guiones. Within the refuge, the first two hundred meters of beachfront is protected land - home to hundreds of howler monkeys, iguanas, pizotes, and birds.
Casa Wallace is located in Pelada, which is arguably the most beautiful beach in Nosara. Pelada is more quiet and less developed than Guiones, but just a walk or short drive away. This is a great place for people who want to be near the ameneties of Guiones, but a bit removed from tourists and rowdy night-life.
